Offered: Cecilia Tan: Signed First Edition of "The Siren & The Sword" (SECOND COPY)
Offer: The first one of these I posted was snapped up for the Buy It Now price so quickly, I decided to put up another one! I'm offering the paperback first edition of the first book in my "Magic University" series, signed, personalized to whomever you wish, and mailed anywhere in the world. Since I wanted to offer something worth at least $50, though, I'm also adding in copies of the ebooks to the entire series!
The Magic University books are published by Ravenous Romance and they're essentially my take on the magical school concept... except the school is Harvard and our hero has much more to learn about love (and sex) than evil. (Btw, the books are intended for adult audiences, not teenagers. Consider yourself warned. The other "warning," though many of my regular readers would consider this an enticement, is that sexuality does not stay in neat boxes. Magic doesn't care what gender you are or prefer... and neither does true love.)
The retail price of the book is US$12.95, and shipping within the US would be $4.95.
To sweeten the pot I'll also add the ebook editions on a CD-ROM of all the books in the series (Books 1-4, and the anthology of short stories by various authors set in the universe.) Retail value $6.99 each! So the total value of the package is $12.95 + ($6.99 x 5) = $47.90 plus shipping.
More details under the cut!
The official description of THE SIREN AND THE SWORD:
Kyle Wadsworth arrives at Harvard eager to start his new life as a college student away from the cold and distant great-aunt who has raised him. But he walks into a building that only magical people can see, confusing both himself and the administrators of Veritas, the secret magical university hidden inside Harvard. There he first sees a beautiful girl who seems magical to him in every way.
Soon Jess is tutoring Kyle in the ways of magic, sex, and love. But trouble is afoot at Veritas. Rumors abound that a siren is haunting the library, and when Kyle’s best friend is attacked, Kyle is determined to use his newly learned skills in erotic magic to catch the culprit. But which is more important, his quest for justice or his search for true love?

Still not convinced it's worth bidding on? Have some reviews:
"Kyle's journey of self-discovery is in some ways a familiar one. A young man finds freedom in college, finds abilities he did not know he had, and finds a girl he likes, maybe even loves. The magic adds a level of spice to Kyle's journey. ... There are many very sensual scenes in the story, with a final scene that is a climax in a lot of interesting ways. The Magic University series looks like it's going to be a fun ride with lots of ... eroticism. The Siren and the Sword is a delicious start."

"Going through Harry Potter withdrawal, I set out to find similar books for an older audience. Tan’s Magic University series does the trick, but it was a little, er, more adult than I was expecting. As in erotica instead of just a romance. It’s not over-bearing however [and]... it was the plot that kept me interested, especially the relationships Kyle has with both his girlfriend and best buddy."

"This is a grown up, sexy and fun story. Magic University has a good storyline, and the types of magic used are very innovative and set it apart from other books of this genre. Though at times the author alludes to what is going to possibly happen, she does a wonderful job of keeping the reader guessing right up until the end. ... Ms. Tan has done an outstanding job of feeding my Harry Potter obsession in a very adult fashion. I look forward to reading her other book in this series."
"Joining Kyle as he experienced many rites of passage, both ordinary and magical, was a delight. It was such a treat to escape to Veritas. The world of “magic users” is enticing and I look forward to spending more time at Veritas. Kyle is still learning and growing. I’m sure there are quite a few more adventures and I want to be there for it all. I can’t wait to find out just where he winds up and with whom. There are also questions I didn’t get the answers to and I need those answers! Count me in for the whole series, it’s just that good."
--Manic Readers Reviews
"This freshman novel to the Magic University series is very well written and, although promoted as an erotica, it’s more erotic-light as this tale is considerably deeper than your average erotic novel and the intimacy doesn’t consume the whole story. There is one scene of voyeurism but it serves a magical purpose, otherwise most of the sex-scenes are pretty standard – well sort of, I can’t say more without a spoiler alert and honestly I’d rather tease. I will say that there are hints that the relative tameness of this story will change in the next book and I can’t wait; I’m reading it as soon as I finish this review!"

"Finding out what's going as it unfolds is one of the best reasons to get into this series. ... This story is about more than any one of Kyle's accomplishments. There's a bigger picture here, more tightly drawn and suspenseful than one book could contain. At the risk of saying what I fear is too little, I hope anyone who enjoys a great ongoing mystery imbued with fantasy, erotica, love and drama opts to read this and the rest of the books in the Magic University series."
