Offered: A poem about metamorphosis
I am an editor of Stone Telling and a poet working primarily in the mythic tradition.
I will write a poem about metamorphosis, featuring a creature or object of your choice. It will be dedicated to you, and sent off for potential publication at one of the mythic-themed zines. Any profit from the sale will be donated to a charity of your choice.
Here's a poem I've written for an auction previously (it was Rhysling-nominated). Here are some more samples of my mythic work.
If bidding passes 50$, I will create a postcard-sized linoleum block featuring the creature or object of your choice, and use that to create a limited edition artist print of 3 featuring the poem (you will get one, I will keep one, and one will be sent to Terri).
UPDATE: WOOT! Art is happening. So, let's raise the stakes. If the bidding passes 100$, I will write a companion piece (poem or prose poem) about metamorphosis, incorporating one of the following elements: wood, stone, wind, fire, or storm (your choice!) - and a companion block print piece of art. I will then create a limited edition diptych (set of three, as above) on archival paper, suitable for framing. The exact configuration of the final product will depend on the length of the poems!
UPDATE 2: Deities!! We've reached 100$. One more raising of the stakes. If the bidding reaches 200$, I will write a third and capping poem. It is unlikely to be short. I don't know what it will be about, but it will be a companion piece to the first two (I will not be taking keywords/suggestions on this one, but please trust me here). I will create at least one more illustration to go with it. Finally, I will print all three poems on special papers, and bind the result into an artist's book, a limited edition of three (this might be an accordion folder book or something more complex, depending on poem length) .I will decorate the covers at my discretion, using organic and found materials. All three artists' books will be completely unique and different from each other; the highest bidder will have first pick. This will be epic and there will never again be anything like this, so I hope (and fear) that it will come to exist.
Forgot to mention: while the first poem will be sent out for publication, the other two will be at the discretion of the highest bidder - you can choose to share them with the world, or hoard them.
This is the last upgrade.
