Offered: Ellen Kushner's personal and pristine copy of this rare, out-of-print Cats Laughing album with Terri Windling cover art!
Once upon a time, Steven Brust, Adam Stemple, Emma Bull, Lojo Russo, and Bill Colsher started a band. A jazz-folk psychedelic improv trad honkeytonk band, doing songs with smarty-pants lyrics and handsome harmonies.
On ANOTHER WAY TO TRAVEL, their second album, they really shine. The album was recorded at Minneapolis's legendary Underground Studio, engineered by Twin Cities alt-rock maestros Tommy Roberts and Ed Ackerson. It includes "For It All" and "Wear My Face" from Emma's WAR FOR THE OAKS. It includes Brust-and-Stemple-penned anthems "Elijah" and "Draw the Curtain." It's got Lojo's "The Undertoad" and John M. Ford's "Black Knight's Work." David Stenshoel of Boiled in Lead rocks out on fiddle on "Bright Street Beachhouse Back in Business Blues." And more! In all, ten original songs and one cover, the trad "Nottamun Town."
And the cover art, a portrait of the band members and their faithful Catmobile, was drawn by Terri Windling herself!
A rare original printing of this album, in like-new condition; Steve, Adam, and Emma will autograph it for you.
